Pocket Size Second Temple Model

One of the projects I have been busy working on is a digital model of the Second Temple suitable for 3D printing. My first "offering" is now available on thingiverse.com.

I started with a very small model using a scale of 1 mm = 4 amos. At this scale the entire model is about the size of a business card and stands 1" high, just the right size to fit in your pocket. Even at this scale the model features an impressive amount of detail. Aside from the eight or so chambers that I squeezed in, you can also see the curtain of the Antechamber, the two ramps leading up the outside of the Heichal Building, and the little doorways in the chambers of the Women's Courtyard.

The photos show a model I printed on my Lulzbot Mini 3D printer using yellow HIPS plastic. I plan to work on a larger scale model with even more details.

There is also a handy floor plan to point out what goes where:

To get your copy of this model, please download it from the model's thingiverse page.
