Photos of LEGO® Mikdash Model

Using the plans described in the last post, here are some pictures of the finished LEGO® model of the Beis Hamikdash.

This is my "30a" version, where each stud = 30 amos. You obviously don't get a whole lot of detail, but the main features are pretty well-displayed for a model which measures only 2.5 x 5 inches.

Model viewed from the southeast.
In the photo above you can see the square Women's Courtyard in the foreground with its single gate in the east and four open-air chambers in the corners. The Nikanor Gate leads west from here into the main Courtyard, and along the southern wall are four of the other gates of the Courtyard.

The Sanctuary Building with its distinctive shape - wide in the front and narrow in the back like a lion - is prominent in the Courtyard. The Altar and its ramp are the only other features I could squeeze into the Courtyard.

Model viewed from the northeast.
Along the northern wall there are also four gates, as in the south.

Model viewed from the northwest.
In the western wall of the Courtyard were two minor gates, shown above. In all, the Courtyard had thirteen gates and I was able to show eleven of them. The only two not shown are the two side doors of the Nikanor Gate.
